Our typical LED lighting project includes:

• Installation and upgrading of emergency lighting to ensure your school is compliant with the latest fire safety regulations
• An energy savings and verification snapshot to prove to your stakeholders the value of installing LED lighting into the school

All aspects of the project are underpinned by our health and safety and quality certifications to ensure a sucessful outcome.   

LED lighting for schools upgrades typically saves between 70% to 80% before including lighting controls.  With lighting controls the savings are typically over 85%.

Our typical payback models shows a return on a School's LED Lighting project around 50-55 months with a life of the new LED lighting spanning over 15 years of useful light.  

An average school operating 37 weeks of the year will reduce their lighting bill by at least 60% on installing LED on a like for like-basis for upgrading the entire school. 

Adding in lighting controls, such as motion and daylight sensors will give you another 10%-15% reduction.  This will then give you an 70% to 75% reduction in the lighting bill.

Depending on your school hours and extra-mural activities we see lighting projects payback timescales as follows:

• Infant/ primary schools with no out-of-hours activities:  60-72 months
• Primary schools with out-of-hour activities: 48 to 65 months
• Secondary schools: 48 to 60 months
• Independent schools with holiday-lets and out-of-hour activities: 24 to 48 months 

For specific projects like upgrading sports halls we have seen even better paybacks including one that had a 15 month verified payback.
